Business Rules

It determines how the Time Event data will be used to calculate parameters like pay day, work day etc, time the person has worked for etc can be calculated; the process of time evaluation. Through this configuration, it is allowed to set rules for all time event parameters such as break time, specific evaluation time for shifts assigned, travel time, shift bracketing, manual shift intervention, minimum time for a Day, minimum time for Half a Day, In–Out time tolerance, wage rate as per working time assigned.

Details about fields;

Break Time

This parameter determines whether the break times are to be considered into the time evaluation. 0 means the break time is not to be calculated nor be deducted from total time worked for. If break time is greater than 0, it is considered as time allowed for the break. E.g. if the Break Time is 900, then in every shift, 900 seconds break time is allowed. If break time is more than that, then additional time is considered as loss of time at work and is deducted from the Time Worked for during the time evaluation process. Non-integer values are read as 0.

Travel Time

This parameter determines how the Travel Time events will be treated by the time evaluation process. If this is set as 0, Movement Time Event Types are generalized to Time In and Time Out by the system. i.e. Start of Inter-site travel is considered as Time Out, End of Inter-site travel is considered as Time In and Change of Site without travel is ignored. If it is set to 1, then during the Time Evaluation process, the Movement information is logged onto field: Movement Info. This field includes start of travel time, location, end of travel time, location, time taken to travel for each such a pair of entry. Values other than 1, including non-integer values are read as 0.

Shift Bracketing

Valid values for this field are 0 and 1. If 0, then Time Events from Scheduled In time for that day to Scheduled In time of next day are used for calculation of time events. When it has value of 1, then only time events between Scheduled In time of that day to Scheduled Out time of that day including tolerance limits are considered for the
process of time evaluation.

Minimum Time for a Day

This is time in seconds and defaults to 8 hours or 28800 seconds. Employee must have his/her Time Worked for the Day greater than or equal to this parameter so that Paid Day for that Day is equal to 1. If it is less than this parameter, Paid Day is 0.5 or 0 depending on the next parameter.

Minimum Time for Half a Day

This is time in seconds and defaults to 4 hours or 14400 seconds. Employee must have his/her Time Worked for the Day greater than or equal to this parameter so that Paid Day for that Day is equal to 0.5. If it is less than this parameter, Paid Day is 0.

In – Out Time Tolerance

In – Out Time Tolerance defaults to 15 minutes or 900. This is Tolerance for In/Out Timings. If Employee comes between these limits before or after Scheduled In, his Time In for the process of Time Evaluation is taken as Scheduled in. Similarly, if Employee goes out between these limits before or after Scheduled Out, his Time Out for the process of Time Evaluation is taken as Scheduled Out.

Earliest In Time
This is the time after which the time events are considered for the time evaluation.

Maximum Time of Continuous Work
Once system gets in time for the person, time evaluation shall be done upto the time after above from found In time.

Night Shifts
IF you have night shifts, please keep this check box as cheked. Else time events after midnight shall be ignored.
